To ensure every talented female athlete is well-prepared for the business of sport before it impacts her life. Your daughter has worked incredibly hard to reach her current level. She deserves to understand sport governance, recognize the red flags in contracts, and make informed decisions that protect her future—whether she pursues a professional career or applies these skills in any other field. Because the tools for athlete preparation in sport are the same tools that lead to success in life.
I've sat in board rooms where decisions about athlete preparation were made for the futures of talented female athletes. I've watched young women sign contracts they didn't fully understand, and I've seen families invest tens of thousands of dollars without clear guidance.
The gaps are real. Athletes can read a game beautifully but struggle to read a contract. Families are left to make critical decisions alone. Young female athletes are particularly vulnerable because no one has taught them what appropriate boundaries look like.
We're here to change that.
We're not coaches trying to add services. We're not agents looking for clients. We're educators—and that distinction matters.
I built this program by combining 25 years of teaching people about money and risk, years of sport governance making contract decisions, and 15 years watching female athletes grow without proper athlete preparation.
We're advised by professional athletes who've lived it—negotiated contracts, handled pressure, and made tough decisions. We're profit-for-purpose, ensuring this isn't just for families who can afford expensive advisers.

We recognise that a 12-year-old female athlete needs different athlete preparation than an 18-year-old facing scholarship decisions. Our three-level pathway delivers age-appropriate education at exactly the right time—building foundations early, developing business understanding mid-pathway, and providing elite preparation when decisions become critical, especially in the realm of sport governance.
Parents aren't just paying—they're participating in their daughters' athlete preparation. Every programme includes dedicated parent components because the best decisions are made when families are aligned and informed. We educate female athletes and empower parents to guide their daughters with confidence in the realm of sport governance.
No theory. No fluff. Every workshop focuses on athlete preparation and is built around real scenarios that athletes, especially female athletes, will face—from evaluating actual contract terms to navigating recruitment conversations. Participants leave with practical tools they'll use immediately: budget templates, decision frameworks, and communication strategies that align with sport governance.
We're built for impact, not profit. Every programme fee funds scholarships for athletes who need them, including female athletes, and expands our reach to underserved communities. Our focus on athlete preparation ensures that term-by-term pricing, needs-based scholarships, and flexible delivery options guarantee that financial circumstances and geography don't limit access to life-changing education and effective sport governance.
Jennifer Dean combines her expertise in sport governance with a strong background in finance. As the former Chair of Basketball NSW, she brings over 25 years of experience as a financial services executive and qualified actuary specializing in risk and wealth management. An L2 Accredited Basketball Coach, Jennifer has dedicated more than 15 years to mentoring female athletes, and she created Cultivate to address the critical gaps she observed in athlete preparation for the business aspects of sport.
Our programmes are guided by current and former professional athletes who bring lived experience of navigating elite pathways, professional contracts, and the realities of being a female athlete in Australia. Their insights into athlete preparation ensure our curriculum effectively addresses the real challenges female athletes face at every level, while also considering the importance of sport governance.
We collaborate with sporting organisations, athlete welfare specialists, and education providers dedicated to comprehensive athlete preparation and development, particularly for female athletes. These partnerships ensure our programmes align with best practices and connect athletes to trusted networks and resources throughout their journey.
We believe knowledge is power. We empower athletes and families to make their own informed decisions rather than telling them what to do.
We prioritise athlete safety and wellbeing—physical, mental, emotional, and financial. Protection through education is at the heart of everything we do.
We maintain the highest standards in both our programmes and the athletes we develop. Quality education. Expert delivery. Meaningful impact.
We operate with transparency, honesty, and the athlete's best interests always at the centre. We're educators and advocates, never conflicted by commissions or placement fees.
We create accessible programmes and welcome athletes from all backgrounds. Scholarship places ensure financial circumstances don't determine who gets access to essential education.
We view families, clubs, and sporting organisations as partners in athlete development, not customers. Success comes through collaboration.
